Resin production line is a kind of equipment specially for production of various resins. It mainly consists of reactor, heating device, mixer, condenser, fractionation recycling device and dilution kettle. The composition of a production line for different resins may be not same. While running, raw materials are heated and fully mixed in the reactor for chemical reaction. During the reaction, some fluid will evaporate, and then be collected by the condenser and fractionation recycling device for reuse. When chemical reaction complete, the processed fluid then be transported to the dilution kettle for cooling. Meanwhile, some other raw materials are added as needed. Finally, the production complete.

Definition and Type of Resin
Synthetic resin refers to the resin product obtained by chemical synthesis of simple organic matter or chemical reaction of some natural products.
By synthesis reaction, there are two types of resin: addition polymer and condensation polymer. Addition polymer is the product of addition polymerization reaction. The chemical formula of its chain structure is same as molecular formula of monomer. Such resin type includes: polyethylene, polystyrene and polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. Meanwhile, polycondensation is the product from condensation polymerization reaction. The chemical formula of its structural unit is different from molecular formula of monomer. Such resin type includes: phenolic resin, polyester resin and polyamide resin, etc.
By resin molecule main chain composition, there are three types of resin: carbon chain polymer, heterochain polymer and elemental organic polymer. Carbon chain polymer refers to the main chain is composed of carbon atoms of the polymer. Such resin type includes polyethylene and polystyrene.

Reactor of Resin Production Line
Reactor is the core equipment of a resin production line. A usual reaction kettle has a volume of 0.5-10 cubic meters. The body of reactor is a cylindrical body with jackets for heating or cooling, an oval bottom and several orifices on the top cover. Normally, the reactor connects with air pressure for raw material feeding. And, the negative pressure does not exceed 0.1 Mpa.
In general, the pressure of steam or cooling water in reactor jackets shall not exceed 0.3 Mpa. A mixer locates in the center of the reactor. It has a shape of anchor, paddle or frame. Most of them adopt the anchor structure. This structure can evenly mix the upper and lower layers and the surface layer of the material. Driven by a motor with gearbox, the speed of the mixer is usually within 40-100 r/min.
The thickness of a reactor is 8-16 mm for inner layer and 5-10 mm for jackets. Bigger reactor of a resin production line means bigger thickness.
